Before there was a Waldhaus stand in Taipei, there was just a dream in Th\u00fcringen. Back in 1964, my grandfather, Alfons K\u00f6ber\u2014a master butcher\u2014perfected a signature bratwurst recipe. He always had a vision of taking his craft beyond Germany’s borders. Decades later, Kevin and I decided it was time to finally make Grandpa Alfons’ dream a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We didn’t want to compromise on the taste or the tradition. We use only high-quality meat and natural seasonings\u2014no shortcuts. We brought that exact family legacy recipe with us to Taiwan to share a true taste of home. We knew that introducing a savory, classic Th\u00fcringer Bratwurst into that mix would be a bold move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We set up shop at the vibrant Raohe Night Market<\/strong>, and the response has been amazing. Here is what we focus on every single night:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Its nice to see that the thing my grandpa wanted to do back then in full action and that it actually works. We are happy to see so much positive reception and that its being well received by the Taiwanese people.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Having the taff<\/em> crew document our journey was a completely surreal experience. ProSieben has a knack for telling the stories of Auswanderer<\/em> (emigrants) who take a leap of faith to build something completely out of the box abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Showing the camera crew around Taipei, letting them experience the chaotic, beautiful energy of the night market, and sharing the raw, daily hustle of a food startup was exhausting but exhilarating. It validated all the late nights, the logistical hurdles, and the wild adventure of starting a business 9,000 kilometers from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We’re so grateful for the love we\u2019ve received, both locally here in Taiwan and from everyone cheering us on back in Germany.
